Golf star Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a two-car accident near his home on Jupiter Island, Florida. The incident occurred when Woods’ Land Rover clipped the back of a trailer being pulled by a pressure-cleaning truck, causing his SUV to flip onto its side. Neither Woods nor the truck driver was injured.
Police said Woods blew 0.0 on a breathalyzer test, but officers at the scene reported signs of impairment. He was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI with property damage and for refusing to submit to a lawful urine test. He was later released the same day after posting bond.
Authorities confirmed Woods was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash and said they were unsure whether he was wearing a seatbelt. Officials noted that while alcohol was not suspected, Woods appeared lethargic and showed signs of impairment at the scene.
The March 27 crash adds to a history of car incidents involving Woods. In 2017, he was arrested on a DUI charge after being found asleep in his vehicle, and a blood test later revealed multiple prescription drugs in his system. In 2021, he suffered serious injuries in a high-speed crash in Los Angeles that required surgery.
The latest incident has raised new questions about Woods’ past accidents, his health, and his future, as well as concerns about decision-making and whether underlying issues may still be affecting the golf legend. As of now, Woods and his representatives have not issued a public statement regarding the incident.
