President Bola Tinubu has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence that he will contest and emerge victorious.

The forms, reportedly worth N100 million, were purchased on his behalf in Abuja by the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Abiodun Faleke.

Faleke said the funds used to purchase the forms were contributed by Nigerians and several support groups, insisting that no single individual financed the process.

The APC leadership, represented by members of the National Working Committee including Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Buka Dalori, and National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, formally presented the forms to Faleke at Abuja Continental Hotel.

Speaking after receiving the documents, Faleke said he acted on behalf of Tinubu’s supporters nationwide.

“I represent Ikeja Federal Constituency and by God’s grace, I also represent Mr. President in the House of Representatives. Various support groups and Nigerians contributed money for the purchase of the form, and I bought it on their behalf,” he said.

He added that Tinubu would seek re-election and win in 2027.

Responding to concerns over an opposition coalition preparing to field a joint candidate, Faleke said political alliances were normal in a democracy and the APC remained focused on its own strategy.

He also disclosed that he purchased nomination forms for other aspirants, including Kadiri Obafemi Hamza for the Lagos governorship race, Senator Idiat Adebule, and himself for re-election to the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, the venue for the sale of forms turned chaotic as a large number of aspirants and supporters crowded the location, causing security challenges, near-stampede situations, and reports of pickpocketing.

Separately, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, urged Nigerian youths to defend democracy and support ongoing national reforms.

He described young Nigerians as vital to the country’s future and warned against politicians pursuing selfish ambitions capable of derailing progress.

Yilwatda acknowledged that Tinubu’s reforms have brought temporary hardship but said they were necessary steps toward long-term economic recovery, stability, and investor confidence.
