Pop superstar Shakira will wrap up her record-breaking world tour with a special concert residency in Madrid at a custom-built venue, promoter Live Nation announced on Monday.

The Executive Magazine can report that the six-night residency will run from September 18–20 and September 25–27, with additional dates possible depending on ticket demand.

The shows will take place at a temporary venue in southern Madrid, to be called the “Shakira Stadium,” with a capacity of about 50,000 people, according to Live Nation Spain president Pino Sagliocco.

The Madrid concerts are expected to be a celebration of life and Latin culture, with the singer promising a show unlike anything fans have seen before. In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais, Shakira said Spain would be one of the most ambitious stops of the tour.

The concerts will mark her first performances in Spain in eight years and her first since reaching a 2023 settlement with Spanish prosecutors over a tax fraud case. As part of the agreement, she paid a fine of more than €7.3 million after previously settling €17.45 million with the Spanish tax agency.

The case related to the period when the Colombian singer lived in Barcelona with Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué. The couple, who have two sons together, separated in 2022.

The Madrid residency will serve as the final stop of Shakira’s Women Don’t Cry Anymore world tour, which has become the highest-grossing tour ever by a Latin artist. The tour began last year in Brazil, and she is also scheduled to perform a free concert on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana beach in May, following in the footsteps of Madonna and Lady Gaga.
