The race for the ₦160 million grand prize in Big Brother Naija Season 11, tagged “Show Ya Sef,” has entered a critical stage, with only 10 housemates remaining in Biggie’s house as the reality television competition moves into its ninth week.
The number of contestants was reduced following Sunday night’s live eviction show, during which Yusuf, Bells and Chimsom Chuka were sent out of the competition by host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Their departure followed another dramatic week marked by nominations, shifting alliances and intense competition among the remaining contestants.
Their eviction has now brought the number of housemates still in the race down from 13 to 10, further raising the stakes as the show approaches its final stages.
Season 11 premiered on July 26 with 24 contestants entering the Big Brother house to compete over 72 days for a record prize package valued at ₦160 million. The package includes ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV, making it the biggest prize package in the history of the Nigerian edition of the reality show.
The competition has undergone several twists since its launch, with housemates required to combine strategy, social relationships, weekly tasks and public support in their efforts to remain in the house.
The season has already witnessed several high-profile exits. Martins and Mercedes were the first contestants evicted, while Kamsy, Cassi, Sultex and Goddessa subsequently left the competition. Gerard and others also departed, while Neche voluntarily exited the house. Nomy was disqualified after repeatedly violating Big Brother’s rules.
Abi and Araga were also evicted during the previous round, reducing the number of contestants to 14 before the latest triple eviction.
Abi had twice won the Head of House title and was also named Most Influential Player after Week Four.
The latest departures have consequently transformed the dynamics inside the house. With fewer contestants competing for limited opportunities to secure safety and influence, every Head of House challenge, wager task and nomination now carries greater significance.
Among the remaining contestants, Keivo recently emerged as the Most Influential Player following Week Eight activities, adding another layer to the strategic battle. Meanwhile, Barry had earlier secured a confirmed place in the finale after winning the Week Eight Head of House challenge.
The shrinking number of contestants is also expected to intensify relationships and alliances within the house.
At the beginning of the season, 24 housemates had different approaches to the competition, with some emphasizing strategy, others entertainment, relationships, personal stories or their ability to win over viewers.
Now, with only 10 contestants left, the margin for error has become considerably smaller.
For viewers, the final weeks will provide a clearer picture of which housemates can maintain their public support while navigating Biggie’s unpredictable twists and challenges.
The ₦160 million prize remains the central attraction, but reaching the finale requires contestants to survive the increasingly competitive eviction process.
As Show Ya Sef enters Week Nine, the focus will therefore shift increasingly towards the final stretch of the competition, with every task, nomination and public vote potentially determining who remains on the road to the grand prize.
With 10 housemates still standing, the battle has moved from simply surviving the house to positioning themselves for the final showdown.
