Michael B. Jordan has finally reacted to the casting of David Jonsson as the next Black Panther in Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero sequel, Black Panther 3.
The announcement, made during Comic-Con 2026 over the weekend, confirmed that Jonsson will portray an adult version of T’Challa’s son in the third chapter of Ryan Coogler’s acclaimed Black Panther franchise.
The news immediately generated excitement among Marvel fans, particularly because the character represents a new generation of Wakanda’s royal legacy.
Jordan, who played the villainous Erik Killmonger in the first two Black Panther movies, has now offered his thoughts on Jonsson stepping into such an important role. While details of his reaction have been closely watched by fans, Jordan’s involvement in the franchise gives his perspective particular weight.
Killmonger’s complicated relationship with T’Challa became one of the most memorable aspects of the original 2018 film.
Jonsson’s casting also marks a significant new direction for the franchise.
